Article Summary

Intro

The page number settings enable you to specify page numbers as header or footer in your ancoreShare reports.
You can choose whether to display page numbers and define the font, color, and position of the page numbers.

Besides this, you can also use the settings here to specify any other header or footer information you may want to add to your pages, such as date, copyright, or author name.

Show page numbers

Select this option to show page numbers on reports. You can use #page (current page) and #pages (total of pages) as variables.
Optionally, click fx to use the expression editor for specifying additional information.

For example, to add copyright information along with the page number, you can set the expression as:

Copyright ABC Corp | Page: #page/#pages

Example:

Position

Select the position and alignment of the page number element on the page.

To add the page number as a header, select the position as Top.
To add the page number as a footer, select the position as Bottom.

If you define the page number element to be displayed in a header, this header acts as an additional header on top of an optional header you can design with other Report Elements.

For example, you may want to style your report with your company logo, or any other information.

In this case, you can set the page numbers as a header and create a second header with a chart object containing a logo image.
The page number header will be on the top, followed by the report element header underneath it.
Here's an example showing a logo as a header, along with the page number:

Note that you cannot add other report elements to the footer, only the page number element here.
See the Report Elements section to learn more on how to add elements as headers.

Font

Here you can define the color and font properties for the page number element.

  • Font Family: Select a typeface from the list.
  • Font Color: Use the color picker or enter the HEX color for your font.
  • Font Size: Enter the font size. The unit is always in point (pt).
  • Font Style: Select the style from Normal, Bold, Italic, or Bold Italic.
NOTE: Some fonts are limited for PDFs and PPTXs only, please choose accordingly.

Margin

Use the options here to specify the page margins for Top, Bottom, Right, and Left.
The margin forms a space outside the element's border.

NOTE: By default, the width is measured in millimeters, but you can change the page unit in the Report Settings.

Padding

Use the options here to define the space between the element's border and the element's content.
You can do this for Top, Bottom, Right, and Left.

NOTEThe padding values are defined in points (pt).

Border

Here you can specify the width (thickness) and color of the border of the page numbers element.
Note that the page border is relative to the page number margin and padding.

In the examples below you can see page numbers in the page numbers header.
The Title "Sales Report", the Date, and the Line are inside the additional Report Element header. See the Report Elements section to learn more on how to add elements as headers there.
